The app allowed users to vote for their favourite contestants and much more.
Dancing with the stars
The app was developed for the European version of the TV show Dancing with the Stars. Our client and the sponsor of the show was the large telecom provider Vodafone.
Challenge
The TV show was extremely famous and we knew the app was going to have lots of users that would vote for their favourite contestants. We also knew that they would all use the app at the same time. The major concern was to not have the server crash from too many simultaneous requests.
Solution
We parallelized the entire process and developed a dynamic cloud architecture that would distribute the requests equally on all server instances. More so, the system allowed for the memory and processing resources to get automatically allocated when needed. This way, we minimized the hosting costs to an optimal level.
Results
Our client was extremely happy with our solution. The app was a success and even won international awards.
